Fat Transfer

Our Services

Fat transfer essentially uses liposuction to take fat from other parts of your body and inject it into your desired areas.

Dr. Supasid performs fat transfer mainly to the face. This procedure offers a revitalizing solution for individuals seeking subtle enhancements in grooves or recessed regions, with an emphasis on achieving natural outcomes.

The areas treated include:

  • Tear troughs
  • Nasolabial creases
  • Temporal hollowness
  • Lips enhancement
  • Cheek enhancement
  • Chin enhancement

Candidates:

  • Healthy individuals with no medical conditions that can impair healing
  • Nonsmokers
  • Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic goals
  • Individuals without serious eye conditions

Risks and safety:

  • Cysts
  • Infection
  • Necrosis (death) of fat cells
  • Possibility that some of the transferred fat cells will leave the area
  • Very rare chance of blood vessels occlusion that leads to skin necrosis and potential visual loss

You may have to have touch-up injections to retain your improved shape if you choose this surgery.

Preparation:

Before undergoing facial fat transfer, you might need to:

  • Undergo lab tests or a medical assessment
  • Make adjustments to your medication or take specific medications
  • Refrain from smoking
  • Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications, and herbal supplements to minimize bleeding and bruising risks

It's important to arrange for a friend or family member to provide transportation to and from the surgery and to stay with you on the first night after the procedure.

Recovery:

The recovery period for facial fat transfer varies from person to person, but generally involves the following timeline:

Immediate Post-Procedure: You may experience swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort around the treated areas. Swelling tends to be more pronounced in the first few days.

First week: Swelling and bruising will gradually subside. You might be advised to keep your head elevated and apply cold compresses to help reduce swelling.

Two to six weeks: The majority of swelling should resolve during this period. You can typically resume most regular activities, but it's important to avoid strenuous exercise.

Six weeks onward: By this time, the final results of the fat transfer start to become more apparent. The transferred fat cells establish their blood supply and integrate with the surrounding tissue.
